Beef Bone Broth

This is one of those recipes that saves me time on busy days. I make a big pot, freeze it in portions, and whenever I need a quick meal, a delicious homemade broth is already waiting.

Ingredients

  • Beef bones
  • 5L room temperature water.

Instructions

  1. Roast the beef bones at 180°C for 40 minutes. Take out the bone marrow if there’s any
  2. Transfer the roasted bones into a large pot and pour in 5L room temperature water.
  3. Bring to a boil over high heat for 15 minutes.
  4. Reduce to a gentle simmer and cook for 10 hours.
  5. Top up with hot water whenever needed to keep the bones submerged.
  6. Strain the broth, let it cool completely, then portion into containers and freeze.

💜 Tips for Kids

This broth is a great base for kid friendly meals. Add their favourite noodles, vegetables or dumplings to create different meals without starting from scratch.

I use this broth as the base for soups, noodles and porridge, as for the bone marrow, I love spreading it on toast or serving it with breakfast! if you want a quicker way to make the broth, pressure cooker can be an option
